So I ordered my AR-15 lower last week (Stag with a 4 position) and I'm looking around at uppers. The local shop wants to sell me a Stag for $535 (has to be ordered). However, I've been looking around a little and have found a couple of options.

    Stag $535 + Tax = $570 Local shop

    Olympic Arms $436 + S&H = $451 - Online

    RRA CAR $495 + S&H = $510 - Cold War shooters

So I can save anywhere from $60 to $120 over my local shop. Note these are all M4 complete uppers. Is there any difference in quality that I need to be aware of? Or just go with the cheapest to save the bucks? Olympic's site doesn't specify if their upper is chrome lined or not, so I have to assume that it isn't because of the price difference. I won't be shooting in any competitions with this rifle, it's just for fun, and for shooting stray coyotes/boars in my back yard.

Probably not for a month at least. I want to get the AR together before I go again, but I need to help my Dad fix his Chevelle first. This of course can't happen until after EOQ.

What local shop are you using?

I would go with the RRA upper, just because I have heard good things about them for the price. I dont know anything about Olympic arms or Stag.

Black Land Guns, in between Hutto and Taylor. I'm thinking about ordering tomorrow if they have one in stock, so I don't have to wait once I get my lower.

Both RRA and Stag are good, I've heard mixed things about Oly but my 9mm upper from them didn't give me any troubles and worked pretty well.

Ended up ordering the RRA upper. For the price it seemed like the best deal. I kinda wanted the Wilson Combat barrel anyway. Thanks for the input guys!

There needs to be an OT AR-15 shootout at Red's, or Eagle Peak.

Werd. I need to buy some soft point ammo then. I've got FMJ and penatrators in 5.56 and FMJ in 7.62x39.
