Alright so I sold my 17-55 2.8 IS...

I plan on buying the 135L assuming I like it (yes I know on my 40D crop body it will be long) btu I know at times I may need a wider lens.

This lens can't be too pricey.

    Thinking maybe a Sigma 30mm 1.4...

Basically what prime will compliment my 135L that wont break the bank.

Also may consider any wide angle. (Maybe the 10-22)

    Thanks

Since you are entertaining 10-22...how about a Tokina 11-16?

    +1 for the Tokina. 12-24

I had that lens for a couple of months. awesome lens i'm pissed i sold it :wtc:

If you can i'd actually get the Tokina 11-16
Constant 2.8 aperture for the win.

Tokina 11-16 is pretty well regarded round here. Some say it's sharper than any Canon UWA for crop bodies.

So since the Tokina 11-16 is made for crop bodies, is it actually 11-16 on a crop body, or does 1.6 still have to be multiplied in?

Do not buy the Sigma 30/1.4, it's so, SO inconsistent.
