    Price Range:

    1000-2500 between those.

Im so far looking at canon EOS10D with few lenses and accesories, is there anything better?

Semi-pro photgraphy, have a 35mm SLR already and need something that i can see the image rigth away, and that comes close to quality.

10D is very nice, i have one myself. If you already have some canon gear, it probably best to stay with canon. But if not, look at the D70 from Nikon.

Also if you can wait a couple of months the much rumored replacement of the 10D will be announced at Photokina. No one is sure what it will be or how much, just a bunch of rumors.

People will probably start selling their 10D's when said new camera is released, so you could probably pick one up cheap in a couple of months

won't find either a 1dm2 or 1ds for under $4k, new or used

the original 1d was and still is quite a nice camera. it's only 4mp, but a larger over all image sensor (1.3x factor) compared to the entry level dslr's, plus it shoots at 8 frames a second, weather sealed body, 45 point auto focus, etc

it might be a little over kill if you're just getting started, better off with a 10d

Nikon D70. Enuf sed. Nikon makes the best and has been making better cameras for far longer than crap sony and kodak. Nikon has a much more professional feel than the Canon one thats 1,000.. thats more of an amateur pasticky feel. Nikon d70!

    Its more expensive too. :rofl::rofl:

And you're wrong. A lot of pros are making the switch to Canon because Nikon is taking too long to release their cameras/lenses/technology.

    Nikon D70

I will never buy any other brand.
My first camera was a Nikon EM from around 1978.
The thing still works like new.

you can ugh all you want, but I'd challenge a d70 to get a better quality pic with more dynamic range any day

I had an origonal Nikon manual slr from the early 70's that used to be my dad's. I used it to do a lot of B&W pictures(developed own stuff @ school)...sadly someone busted into my locker and stole the camera. I found out who it was, told the school and the police...aaaannnnd....they did nothing. Fucking Lavaan Wilson(I couldnt do anything because he already graduated and I didn't know where he lived, and the police/phonebook wouldn't tell me :squint: )...

anways...I am moving to Florida in October/November for college and wanted to pick up my first digital slr and get back into photography...

sofar D70 is number 1 for moi... :dunno:

    if I can afford it...

i know you're out of the country ATM, but a friend of mine is selling his 10D with a few lenses... it's used, and on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest, i'd say it's a solid 8. It was his field camera so it got used alot, but he's very careful with all of his equipment, so i'm marking it down for wear. he's selling it wiht a BG-ED3 battery grip (with generic handstrap attached) and 4 extra batteries in addition to a NEW extended capacity Canon BP 511A (1395mah)

if you're intrested when you get back, PM me
