Help me help a great girl out

    I'll try to be short, as a lot of you hate reading.

    My best friend wants to lose some weight. I'm not sure how much exactly, but she's trying to dump approximately 70" off a 5'5" frame. She's a beautiful girl and all, but she's just fat. Simple.

    She signed up for the gym already and she's working with a PT for the first few weeks to get her going. She is on her fifth week dieting and she's changed her lifestyle a little bit to get keep her somewhat centered.

    Anyone have any advice for me to help her stay on course? She's never disappointed me, so I'm hoping she sticks with this.

    Her early goals are size 10, keep her tits, and maintain some sanity (she's complaininng about lack of carbs.)

    If she's looking to lose fat she'll lose it everywhere... so as for keeping tits... it may or may not happen depending on her genetic make-up.

    Just be sensible and don't eat a whole loaf of fucking white bread. Try rye or caraway seed bread.... I don't know what else to say. :dunno:

    I printed up the stickies and showed them to her from months ago. I introduced her to christophers base when I started last year. I invite her to the gym everytime I go. I even tried doing pushups for shots to compromise her normal drinking habits. But it's come to this, and she's only now looking into help.

    I know about the whole carbs and shit, but she's set on what her PT is saying so I'll have to work on her with that.

    Caloric deficit + moderate cardio + lifting weights = weight loss. It's not rocket science. :hs: If you do that shit, you will lose weight.

    Just getting the workout plan and diet in place will help her immensely in the first place. Sounds like she's on the right track getting a PT and so on, at least she's into it.

    when i lost a bunch of weight back in the day i ate all my carbs in the morning and kept it light at night. that worked out well for me. i'd feel like a fat blob in the morning after a previous dinner of pasta


    I still tend to do the same thing now to maintain, but not as strict :)

    how do you eat all of your carbs in the morning?
    i'm trying to eat the vast majority of mine in the morning and right after a workout... but everything has carbs in it pretty much, so how do you get around that?

    well its easy for me because i dont really eat that much. i usually have a bowl of cereal in the morning, then one of those cereal bars a little after that, a salad for lunch, fruit or whatever for a snack after that. then like chicken and veggies or whatever dinner is im eating. or ill have pasta for lunch and a salad for dinner.

    so i dont necessarily eat ALL my carbs in the morning, but i try to get them in during morning and lunch, and towards the end of the day i keep it light.


    i tried that whole atkins thing years ago and it was a waste of time. you just need to balance out your cals, carbs, protein and steer clear of saturated fats. with salads use fat free dressings, no bacon bits or any of that shit. grilled chicken not fried...you kind of get the hang on whats good for you body and whats not. what makes you feel good and what makes you feel crappy
