Alrighty.... I have never watched what I've ate, or worked out steadily. I always want to start, but ..... uh nothin ever comes out of it. (I cheered in HS but thats been since '03) I'd really like to be just healthier, and a better body would be a nice plus. I'm 5'1" and 1/4 (found out Mon @ the Dr. thought I was 5'2"-5'3" :hs:) and 116lbs. I'm not sure my BMI, bet I could find out how to figure it out. I'm reading the sticky right now, but I thought I'd ask some advice too.

Here's my schedule and kind of what I eat...:noes:

I get up at 3am, deliver the newspaper with my SO, come home, shower or nap for 30min-1hr. May grab a pop (yeah I'm addicted) and a convenient store snack...:hs:

Go to regular desk job, I do more walking around than most desk jobs, as I am the runner. Sometimes I'll have 2 slices of toast and 3 pieces of bacon, and potatoes or some combination of the three....

Lunch, anything from turkey sandwich (most the time) to chili, beef and noodles, occasional burger...

Have class at 6pm, walk across campus to class. come home ~7:30pm. Sometimes eat, sometimes not, If I do...... maybe fast food, maybe a chicken patty, hot pocket, if I'm lucky (not dead tired) I'll cook a chicken breast, or a real meal...

Sleep hopefully at 9pm. (I have to wake up at 10:40 to pick up my bf, my car is broke down...then I'm back to sleep by 11:30 at the latest)

    Ok, serious answer:

people can tell you what to eat, what exercises to do, etc... BUT it doesn't mean squat if YOU aren't ready to do it and stick with it. it really IS all about YOU choosing to make a change and follow through.

At 5'1" and 116, it doesnt sound like you're outside of a normal weight range. what is it exactly that you're looking to do?

I hate how I eat junk, and I want a more efficient body if that makes sense. I want to feel good. I have a real dislike for my stomach...but I need tone all over.

All honesty, I don't like how in that last picture I'm kinda thick from the side, and if I keep this up for the next five years or soo... I'll be a mess. Long term down the road, I'd rather have healthier habits so when I have kids, I can lose that wieght etc...

then stop eating junk. your stomach looks fine, taking the junk out of your diet will lean you out some and the rest cardio will cover.

i understand a busy schedule.. it's just something that noone can help you do. remove the temptation in your home/workplace and stick with it. I found that after the first few weeks i didnt even crave sweets anymore. hell, I turned down PIZZA the other night.

    weights will help as well.

keep track of what you eat. Calculate your calorie, fat, protein and carb intake.

another thing, she needs to drink at least 64oz of water a day. eat more fruits and veggies

All progress starts in the kitchen! Just watch what you eat. Consume something that will give you good energy for the early part of your day, oatmeal for instance. Then continue to eat, but do so by eating smaller meals just eat more than 3 times a day. Instead of the junkfood, eat fruit, apples, oranges, bananas, etc... If you have no objection to eating fish, add that to your diet. Good protein and can be quite tasty if prepared right.

I say eat about 6 times a day.

    breakfast
    snack
    lunch
    snack
    dinner
    snack

Implementing weight exercises will not make you "huge", it will get you in shape. I am not sure what problem you have with your body, because I for one see not a damn thing wrong with it, looks good to me. OMG 5'1" and my type of build... Anyway, back to subject, weights are great to do.

Add some cardio in on your days you are not lifting and you should definitely see some progress. Besides doing anything to change for the better will make progress, especially if you have never done anything before. Depends on you what kind of cardio you want to do, wanna make it go quick, HIIT, that is a workout that can be done in like 10 mins... If not into that high intensity workout, do about 30-45 mins of running/jogging.

Good luck with your attempt at becoming healthy, although I will repeat, you look good as is, so don't ever think that you don't. Last words, without dedication you won't do it, make sure you got that in check first.
