A friend just gave me some computer parts and i'd like to get it up and running. Here's what he sent me:

    Gigabyte p35c-ds3r moboard.
    Intel qx6700 quad extreme proc.
And an evga gf 7800gt graphics card.

My old comp now is an athlon xp2500, gf 4 card, and some other old shit.

I know i need new ram and and sata hard drive. Looks like i also need a new power supply that supports the epci 6 pin power connectors, booo. So ANYWAY, i want to get this running and keep things open enough for maybe some future proc/vid card upgrades.

Will this crap be a good place to start?

So all thats about $175 bucks. If i need improvement in some areas or if you have cheaper suggestions that would be great too. Keep in mind the shitty old slow ass machine i'm comming from :)

It's a newegg brand.. kind of like going in to Best Buy and purchasing a Dynex or Insignia TV. In-house brands are refurbed or parted out pieces of shit thrown in a box.
