Ok, so I changed my philosophy from a while ago and decided to bulk for awhile while lifting. (local gym has an all the time special of 9 weeks for 19$)...
Anyways, I can't seem to get enough calories into my diet and not sure where I should add more at.

    I'm 23, 6'2" and about 205-210lbs.

6:00am - Shake with Whey, Milk, Peanut Butter, and Oats in it.. about 900 calories.

8:30am - Three Eggs, and a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich on Wheat

11:30am - Two chicken breasts with rice

2:00pm - Apple and a can of tuna

    3:00-4:30ish - Workout

After workout - Two scoops Whey in Milk

5:00pm - Two chicken breasts with rice

8:00 pm - Cottage Cheese and a handful of peanuts.

My totals only come up to like 2800 calories, and I need to be around 4500 or so. The protein is good though, sitting around 340g I think..
Only supplements are Whey, Mutli-Vitamin and probably going to start Fish Oil.

    Any help?

I can't see that being 3k in cal, but I am too lazy to check.

The easiest way to get cal is to put more in your shakes imo

Oh yea, and throw a steak in there

Can't see that being 3k cal as in can't see it being that many, or that little?
Basically, I just looked at the nutritional labels of everything and added it all up... What more would I put in my shakes to increase cals? More Oats and PB?

You can add flaxmeal to your shakes to get some fiber/healthy fats. You can switch to salmon instead of tuna from time to time. Throw some oats in there, preferably steel cut if you want more cals. You can still increase portion sizes or add a shake if you have to.

your protein consumption is good. perhaps increase your carb portions. eat an extra serving or two of rice with some veggies for dinner, have some buttered bread and ham or bacon or both with your breakfast. if you use choco whey try adding nutella.

Eating tons of calories is easy... but when you are trying to eat mostly clean calories and at the same time trying to have it be stuff that can be prepared in days advance, it gets kind of hard..

Maybe I'll switch the post-workout drink to another shake..

Oh and Maine, that shake sounds friggin gross.. though I might try it. :hs:

you can add some fruit and other items to your post workout shake.

eat more veggies with all of your meals

    more eggs at 8:30

    PB is calorie dense...eat more.

i dont see the difficulty? you want to eat "clean" calories...fine. so you've picked out a bunch of foods you want to eat and it only totals ~ 3000 cals, so eat more of them :dunno:?

why do you have to eat 3 eggs and a pb&J sandwich? make it 5 egg and 2 sandwiches. have 4 chicken breasts instead of 2. throw some peanut butter in your shakes...this shouldn't be that difficult.

    Dirty bulks, dirty cuts :wiggle:

Eat some higher-calorie stuff. You're going to have to put on some fat one way or another. Peanut butter, nuts, cheese- all high-calorie with some decent protein to them.

Why the fuck do you want to consume 4.5k cals per day?

some people actually want to make size and strength gains :dunno:

I know, but isn't 4.5k overkill? Even with a heavy work out and a lot of exercise does a body of his size really need that much to maintain (plus an extra few hundred to make sure)?

i don't know what he needs, but i'lll tell you i need at least that much. If i'm bulking and not counting calories, most days i probably eat more. Everyone is different but 4500 / day is not really some extreme amount.
