I'm trying to decide which pistol to get...it will be used for lots of practice, HD, and eventually CCW.

    Which should i go with?

    Glock 19 or M&P9c?

    Poll coming...

I have shot the Glock 22 & 27, but not the 19 or the M&P...and i don't have the opportunity to, unless i buy them. Which makes it more difficult.

They are both about equally comfortable.

Here's a second part...for those that choose the Glock, also specify the black or OD frame.

I dislike all colored frame guns so black.

I voted G19 even though I have the M&P 9c. With your criteria itll be a nice match.

    Go with black.

The G26 is more comparable to the 9c. The full size M&P is about the size of a compact glock. The compact M&P is the size of a sub-compact Glock.

Didn't even have to think. The Glock is definitely a better choice over the XD.

As for color, thats slightly more complicated. If this is your first/only or a carry Glock, then get black. If this is an "extra" Glock then get OD.

    I'm considering a G17 in OD.

Actually the M&P full size is comparable to the glock 17, then the 19, then the M&P9c, then the 26 in order of largest to smallest.

I have done the research as far as that goes. I didn't like the 27 i shot becuase it was just a little too small. The M&P compact, while not being very much bigger at all, is just enough to feel good to me.

yea I just read it and I have no idea why I thought XD. I still vote for Glock, tho. I'm not a fan of the "compact" M&Ps.

If it's fullsize and you already have a Glock, then I'd say M&P to add some diversity.

    But everyone needs a Glock.

I checked out some M&Ps at the fun show yesterday and I have to admit, they feel really good in the hand. I have not shot one however, so no idea on the accuracy etc. I have a G31 and G26 and they are exceptional weapons and without a doubt reliable.

This is surprising...i thought there were more M&P fans around here.

How many of you that voted Glock have had experience with the M&P, and still chose Glock?

M&P didn't fit my hand as well as my Glock does.

I have both a fullsize M&P and a Sub Compact Glock, both are .40.
I prefer the ergonomics of the M&P, but I have only 10% of the rounds through it than I do the Glock, so time will tell if I like shooting it better.
