Its a decent board however you should get a socket 939 instead imo. 754 isn't going to be around all that long, so if you wanted to upgrade later on, you'll be outta luck.

    gigabyte? nasty.

w3rd on the 939. Not much cost difference between the two, and 939 has a future.

do you plan on haveing over a gig of ddr400 ram because that board has some glitches in its bios where if you do it will automatically switch it to ddr333 and theres no way around it
im building a 754 system myself (im straped for cash otherwise i would go for 939) and my board of choice is SOLTEK "SL-K8AN2E-GR"
may i also recomend it with Geil Value Series Ram
just a side not about the soltek board corsair value ram isnt compatable with it
    hope was of help

Thank you all! I really don't plan on upgrading the CPU; but I'll look at the 939.

    754 is single-channel.

    939 supports dual-channel.

even if you'll never upgrade, you should get 939 -- your memory bandwidth will be a lot higher...

you trust newegg, or the people that can vote on it without ever using the product? Name-brands and cheap products get good reviews. Newegg doesn't require a purchase to rate something.

And soltek is mostly crap, just so you know.

I think I'll be getting this one in a few days. It is slightly more than I wanted to spend; but it should be much faster than anything else in the $400 price range. Thanks for all of your help.

If you can wait a month, then you might wanna hold out for nForce 4 which is due out soon.
