System will be used for Home Theatre (dedicated room) and also a hub for music with speakers in other areas of the house. The budget is around $6000AUD for just the speakers, receiver and DVD player.

Here is a quote I got from a well respected retailer. Not included from the original quote is the 82cm Grundig TV and the turntable. Don't need either of them. I saw a projector system in their showroom, I'll have that thank you very much! :big grin: So yeah, A projector is going to be put in at a later date.

    Prices are in Australian dollars:

    Yamaha RXV730 (Digital/DTS Receiver) $1499.00
    Yamaha DVDS530 (Multi Zone CD/DVD Player) $399.00
    J.M Lab Chorus 715 (Main Speaker) $1599.00
    J.M Lab Chorus 705 (Rear Speaker) $599.00
    J.M Lab Chorus CC700 (Center Channel) $599.00
    J.M Lab Chorus SW700 (Subwoofer) $999.00

Here is the layout of the room:

This house has not been built yet, so I am building it from the ground up.

    Thoughts or comments?

Sounds good to me. I would personally spend less on the rear speakers and put that toward the mains though.

    :ugh:

Quite frankly I can't tell if you are serious or not. If you are, you should realize he is probably the type of person who cares about good quality sound reproduction, rather than a small easy to use system....

 well I'm just going by what I've experienced hehe if you asked me, I wouldn't buy that bose setup either, it's too $$$ for what it does. I just really wanted to see what people would say. Although those bose head phones for 130 bucks sounds pretty good:big grin:
