i thought i might ask here for some help on building a pc.

i need just the pc. i got my monitor and hardware.

i wil mainly use it for internet, music, vids, pictures, and of course some schoolwork.
i need a computer than can support running a few programs at once.

    i was thinking something along the lines of a P4, 512, 100gig.

its the other smaller stuff/tricks i need help with.

my budget will start at 500 and possibly more if really needed.

    hope you guys will help.

    thanks.

also, it seems that over time, my systems always become slower somehow, even though it has the same amount of data on the hard drives.

i appreciate what you guys have put in, anymore input would be great.

Chances are that your older 15gig drive is slow and wouldn't be worth having around except for simply dumping data and leaving it. You can install it like you install any other drive - if you purchased the system that skooter posted and used SATA you'd have 3 slots open for PATA drives :eek3: - although I don't think that a shuttle would hold that much...space wise.

Wait a minute...WTF is skooter talking about. The shuttle doesn't even support SATA!
