Hey guys, I just saved up enough money (about $1500) to create a new desktop system for myself. I was seeing if anyone could help me put some parts together and build a kickass gaming system. I was using newegg.com for individual items. My main question is the Dual processor's worth it? Anyways If you guys could mock a system buildup with the links that would be great! Thanks ahead of time.

Dual processors is not worth it. However, dual core may be. Do you need a monitor with this? Keyboard? Mouse?

Normally I spec machines out a little under budget, but this one goes over $7.47. If you're really into it, you can probably splurge the extra cash and not each lunch for one day. lol. Otherwise, swap to a cheaper video card, or don't get an X2 processor. This is a pretty good machine. All parts are from NewEgg. The two lines of DVD burners is not a typo... Most people want two optical drives, and the price difference between a player and a burner is so small, just get the extra burner -- it comes in handy.

Good recommendation jolly. Newegg is great. I'd also recommend that instead of getting the 7800GT, you get the new 7900GT (if still isnt sold out on newegg). You get 7800 GTX performance for 7800GT prices. Google some reviews. ALSO, if you really want a kickass system, I'd get the new Dual core Opteron 165 (also sold out last time i checked). If you get that, you can overclock it to reach FX-60 speeds! Without having to pay an extra $1k.

I'm selling that exact RAM item. 2x512 XMS PC3200.

$80 shipped. Never overclocked. You wouldn't even know it was used.
