it has no CD drive. I know i need to get 1 but cant at the moment. It only has a Floppy drive and i dont have access to the desktop. Only the log on screen. Dude that sold it to me gave me wrong password or something.

Is there a way to boot from a drive on a network and load the OS that way?

    HELP!!

possibly an external cd drive would work... but a network install will not if i remember correctly.

This is all assuming you are talking windows and not linux.

You can do a Remote Install of XP by turning this option on in the BIOS, and then selecting it, probably with a key-press, at boot. But it is probably beyond your technical abilities to setup a Remote Installation Services server.

Call around to computer stores. Ask them if they can do a remote install of XP. Take it to one that can.

Does this laptop not have a CD drive at all? Because if it doesn't its probably pretty old and should't have it on it.
