Well i am relatively new to building my own computer. I built one before that turned out fine. The computer that i recently built is giving me a lot of troubles. Every couple of days i have to reinstall windows xp.

Every couple of times i start my computer, it will not read the os. it says boot disk error or something along those lines. would this be a problem with the hdd? motherboard? processor?

sometimes before this happens, i will get a lot of error messages in windows asking to debug or a command prompt will suddenly pop up. i reformatted several times and even re partitioned. any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a hard drive problem to me, on an outside shot it could be the motherboard too. The hard drive manufacturer most likely has a diagnostic program that you can run on the system to say if the drive is funky or not.

:werd: My first guess would definetely be the hard drive.
