Ok, I've got this Compaq 6350US with some crappy on-board Intel 82845G/GL Graphics Controller. The motherboard doesn't have a AGP slot so I had to buy a ATi Radeon 7500 64mb PCI card tonight.

So, I installed the ATi card and go into the bios. The options it gives me for Primary Video Adapter are 1. PCI and 2. VGA. Obviously I picked PCI and saved and rebooted. Windows XP Pro loads and I see the WinXP Pro splash screen. Then it goes black and my hard drive light continues a little and that's it. It just sits there. I touch any key on my keyboard and my PC speaker beeps. Weird.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks!

Boot into safe mode and set your resolution as low as possible. It's unlikely your onboard is outputting higher res. than the PCI, but there may be some compatability issue with your resolution. Install the drivers for the card in Safe Mode and go from there.
