Okay, the resident professional on a local car club board has been bashing the fact that I don't like Zaino. And he just posted that he liked the finish on a customers car that he Zaino'd and topped with NXT.

Doesn't NXT have abrasives in it that would remove the Zaino?

It does have some mild abrasives, but nothing that would strip Zaino, I don't think. They have that whole "Dawn wash" thing, I think that's the only thing that strips it. :dunno: though.

Clay bar is the only stripper. And yes you would use dawn to clean all the minerals and oils from the car once it is clay barred.

The only way to really know is to use Zaino on a single stage paint job, let it cure then go over it with NXT. You will get some light color transfer if you use NXT directly on a single stage paint job (not nearly as much as with a true cleaner wax though) so if there is no color transfer at all, then NXT didn't remove all the Zaino.

Just curious, if Zaino is supposed to be so perfect (in the minds of the Zaino diehards, anyway), why would he use anything over it?

I agree with Scott. As for the Zaino Nazi, we are all entititled to our opinions, but he should say that anything else isnt good.

FWIW, Sal has told me that Dawn does not remove Zaino.

As I said previously, claybar...then use Dawn. Dawn is designed to strip the minerals and oils off the car.
