I'm looking to get something by mid April and I THINK I have it down to 4.

Basically I'd like to get something I am going to keep for the long haul and reliability goes without question. I'd like it to be easily concealable, carry as much as possible and have a rail. I've spoken to a few friends who are big on the subject and have many guns and have come to the following 4. I have fired the HK CT and like it a lot, I'm going out probably this week to fire the XD and the Sig. My friend in florida is sayin the Taurus is his cary as it's so small and holds 10+1 and it's never failed him even in the 2 life situations he needed it.
So please any input or help would be most helpful cause I'm going nuts trying to decide here.

    All are 45's

    HK USP or CT

    Sig P220

    Springfield XD

    Taurus Millenium Pro

EDIT: I forgot to mention I don't like Glocks..I think they look like a brick with a trigger.

I want a 45 (so no 9 and I hate 40's) infact the only other caliber I was looking at was the FN FiveSeven which I've also shot but the ammo is so pricey I was leaning on 45's.
I'm not too big on 1911's either I want this thing to be tactical style w/ a rail and DA.. I was told if I go sig get DAK, and HK go LEM. My friend has the USP CT and the 57 he uses both as his CCW depending on the mood he's in.

I haven't tried any of the others, but the USP is top notch. Forget about full size for concealability... and even the Compact Tactical is large.

I like my 4" SA-XD .45ACP. Except the grip is a hair too long and leaves a little imprint on a suit jacket that I conceal under. I think the new compact version would help greatly with that.

i'd go for the hk or sig - whichever shoots better for you

why not look at some glocks for concealability?

i have a sig p226 that i daily carry and its likely that i'll pickup a subcompact glock before summer hits to carry daily - the sig is realistically too big for concealing sometimes

I carry the USPc.45, and I've never had any issues. I want to try the p220carry SAS, but it's actually a larger and heavier gun than the USP.

I love how everyone throws in their $.02 when someone asks :) Honestly you can't go wrong with either of the guns you have listed other than they may be a little difficult to conceal depending on your build/dress/holster. FWIW I can conceal a full size 1911 IWB in shorts and a teeshirt no problem. But the lighter guns are more comfortable.

notice the Smiley? I'm just saying that instead of just saying, those are all good choices, but I prefer XXXX.... Everyone seems to only support what they carry/shoot. There are TONS of good servicably pistols and they all work differently for different people. I could throw in saying what I use is the best...but it might not be for you.

Take it from someone who has the Taurus Millenium Pro in 9mm.. you don't want it in .45.

The gun is small and compact, and .45 is going to make follow-up shot placement a total bitch. It took me awhile to get a good handle on my 9mm.. the gun is a jumpy little sucker with a stiff trigger pull.

I didn't vote. I just wanted to put in my experience with the USPc (being that I carry one every day). If I was forced to vote, I'd put it on the USP obviously :dunno:
