i just got home from school for winter break and i decided to bring my desktop back with me...

so i unplug everything from the computer at home and set it all up on my computer.

i turn it on and it doesnt make the normal "beep" sound....

it goes like this: "beeeep" beep beep beep....

and nothing loads.....my monitor doesnt turn green (the little orange/green monitor light in the corner)

so i unplug it and put it all back on my old computer and my old computer turns on just fine, no problems.....

i was just using my computer this morning at school before i left....had no problems.
so i reset my motherboard and still no help....

could this problem have anything to do with my monitor, keyboard, or mouse??

cause thats the only thing that is different than what im using at school. At school i have wireless keyboard and mouse, lcd monitor.

home i have old fashion keyboard and mouse, and a crt monitor....

    what could be my problem??

1 long followed by 3 short is typically a memory or vga error. It can varey in different mobo's though

if you check and the ram is seated correctly, then look up the beep codes for your mobo (either in the manual or on the manufacturers website), that should atleast identify whats wrong so you can take steps from there
