    Hey guys,

I was hoping that I would be able to get a little unbiased opinions (is that possible? lol) on which of these laptops/ibooks I should choose.

I am almost done with the freebie site and have to choose one soon but either don't know how to compare or can't make up my mind. Yeah, sorry, silly problem to have

I mostly use PC's but I guess I wouldn't mind an ibook but not sure. I will be getting a mac mini eventually as well so maybe having an ibook wouldn't be so bad. But I will also be keeping my pc and probably use that most often.

Well these are the choices I have:

    14.1" iBook G4 1GHz w/Combo Drive
    iBook G4 1Ghz
    14-inch display with 1024x768 resolution
    256mb DDR266 SDRAM
    40GB HD
    DVD-CDRW Combo drive
ATI Radeon 9200 w/32mb DDR Video Ram

    12.1" iBook G4 1.2GHz w/Combo Drive
    iBook G4 1.2Ghz 12-inch display
    1024x768 resolution
    256MB PC 2100 DDR SDRAM
    30GB ATA 100 HD
    DVD-CDRW Combo Drive
    ATI Radeon 9200 w/32mb
    Airport Extreme

    Pavilion P4 2.8GHz Notebook
    Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz Processor
    512MB DDR SDRAM
    60GB HD
    DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
    802.11g Wireless
    56K Modem
    10/100 NIC
    15.4" WXGA Display
    Windows XP Home
    hp Refurbished

    Averatec Pentium 4 3.0GHz Notebook
    Intel® Pentium® 4 3.0 GHz w/ HT Technology
    Microsoft® Windows® XP Home
    15.4'' WXGA Wide Screen
    DVD+CD-RW
    40GB Hard Disk Drive
    512MB DDR RAM
    ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9600
    Wireless 802.11g
    10/100 LAN
    56k Modem

    Averatec 3250HX-XPH Notebook
    1” thin, 4.5lbs
    12.1” XGA TFT
    AMD Athlon™ XP-M 2200+ processor w/QuantiSpeed™ Architecture
    Microsoft® Windows® XP Home
    512 MB DDR
    80 GB HDD
    Integrated DVD Burner
    802.11g wireless

or $1000 Cash....which I know if I get I would use on stupid stuff and not get a laptop...

Any specific recomendations? Good/funny sarcastic comments and cracks are always welcome as well :). :fawk:

that Averatec P4 looks pretty nice stat-wise
never heard of that brand before though
but other than that i like the 12" ibook better, screen is a little small but the resolution is the same as the 14", and it has Airport. 30gig HD though? not very much space if you keep a lot of media
really, id take the cash though
    buy a powerbook off ebay

Yeah I liked the idea of the 12" ibook most because of the size...if it is huge and heavy I wouldn't end up taking it anywhere anyway, so the smaller the better lol.

And I haven't heard of "averatic" either. But they do look decent regardless.

And I have been considering the cash but it would be through paypal which means I would have to upgrade my paypal account and pay the fees :(. Not that big of a deal though. I was thinking if I was going to go for cash I may be able to get more out of it if I got one of the laptops/ibooks and sold it myself on ebay lol. Might not be a lot more than the 1k cash, but still.

Thanks for the replies so far guys :).
