after my squat session I headed to leg press and started my work sets. during my second set I got a sharp pain in the back of my head. I was on the last rep of my set and immediately stopped. I chilled for awhile and then went back into it and felt it again. I've never felt anything like it before and im guessing I pinched a nerve. I had some caffeine before like usual and was blasting the new jeezy loud. could either of those have contributed to it? I had to stop there and was pretty pissed because I was looking forward to smashing the quads. anyone know what it could have been? only thing else I could have come up with is that I was holding my breath during the higher rep set.

I wasn't going too heavy either..I was working on good form with twenty five reps a set. im guessing it was a pinched nerve after talking to a few buddies due to me maybe moving my head around

for someone who said they JUST got back in the gym a month ago and saying you do 60 reps on leg extensions you have VERY little room to shoot off your mouth to me. go back to lurking the stickied BB thread and keep asking questions.

How was your breathing? I've had that happen before on leg press when I was holding my breath for too long.

I am not sure if this helps but .. I've had pains in the back of my head as well, it had something to do with the muscle adhesion (not sure if that's correct translation) in the back of the head. It gave me terrible headaches that would last for over a day! So I went to see my physiotherapist and he suggested doing some extra exercices that would make those sore muscles (and especially adhesions) stronger. Haven't had any pain ever since.
    Good luck!

My av is so small you can't see it!
I did that for a while, but only found it beneficial if i cycled the rep ranges through weeks, like 12-15 for one week, 10-12 next week, then 6-8, to keep myself from burning out. Otherwise high volume is

this is real talk man.. im always civil on the boards and you get this guy acting hard when i happen to try something different than my 8-12 rep range on leg press. anyways gonna lay off the caffeine for a bit and try not to turn up MM4 on the pod too loud today during arms. new job interview tomorrow so i have to be feeling on point in my new suit. :coold:

relax dude...sorry my :hsugh: offended you so much.

when you posted this question, then stated you held your breath while doing sets of 25 i figured it was pretty obvious that was the problem.

no problem brotha legs hug it out

seriously though im not holding my breath the whole time but i catch myself doing it every now and then. starting cardio now so i can up the appetite and have less problems with heavy breathing during legs/back.

Yeah that's what I think it is.

You can probably do the reps, just make sure you're breathing correctly.

    Keep us posted.
