I am having issues trying to increase my strength on bench press, upper chest flys, and other chest related exercises. I do about 3-4 exercies that focus on chest once a week. I drink whey protein about 3-4 times a week with 2 scoops per glass (23g of protein per scoop), and I eat a lot of meat during the week 3 times a day.

The problem is that I am struggling big time to push past the current weights that I am at. Everytime I go to the gym, I simply struggle with the current weights, and I can never move up in weights. Anyone have any hints as to why? :hs:

I eat a good amount of food compared to most of my friends my age, and I have a seperate workout day where I do lats/traps/lowerback/etc for back. On the day I do chest, I also do a few exercises to work my tri's specifically as well.

Also are a lot of guys here still taking whey protein, or is there something more effective? Are you supposed to drink 1g of whey for each lb of mass?

well if your friends eat 25% of the food they're eating and you're doubling that.. you're still not eating enough. so fucking eat and don't argue when you come into threads like this asking the most basic questions.

EAT and train more than your chest. and train more than once per week.

Look into hypertrophy. More weight, less reps. And def more food.

Is Whey basically useless then? I have always thought it was one of the best ways to get protein?

    food is the best way.

supplement 75g of whey a day if you want, get the rest from food.

... you make absolutely no sense... You say look into hypertrophy which occurs mainly in the larger rep ranges... than you say more weight less reps.

"Super Charging the 5X5" which can be found in the Archives under "Hypertrophy".

I've been doing this for almost three months now, and I'm getting good results.

    A. Drink Whey
    B. Eat
    (do both)
    C. Creatine
    D. When was the last time you changed your workout routine? if you haven't changed things up a bunch lately do so, it might shock your muscles into growth.
I read a routine a while ago and it worked to help me over a plateau, basically do sets of 2 with the weight you can do sets of 5 with but only take a 18 second rest period between sets. Then do a ton of sets, i end up with more total reps for same amount of time, i do it a couple weeks then go back to my usual routine. might be worth a try, there is alot more to it then what i described obviously but i didn't want to write a book here, plus it doesn't matter, just change up your routine and do a new routine for awhile
