Heavy/light lifting rotations question

    I'm lifting to gain the most muscle as possible. Not for strength.

    Now that that is aside, does anyone lift heavy for X weeks then Lift light for one week or more..then back to heavy?

    I've heard that is what you are supposed to do.. Can someone shine some light on this subject?

    I've heard the opposite.

    4 weeks of heavy training = loss of stamina
    4 weeks of volume training = loss of strength

    After 8 weeks you're back at ground 0.

    edit: food intake will determine mass gain in the end. If you bust your balls with either, you'll put on mass.
