Heatsink?

    My heatsink burned out lately and im thinking about getting a new one. Is it that important to my computer?

    to extend the importance of his answer, don't run your computer without it, or you'll end up replacing more parts.

    To be more specific, if you use a computer that's more modern than a 486 without a heatsink, it'll run about five seconds before it overheats and shuts off or burns out. If you have a heatsink but no fan, that time extends to about five minutes. In short, don't even turn it on without a heatsink on the CPU.

    heatsinks are very important. but i didn't know they "burned out"
