Hell, if you need something fast and pre-made, the South Beach breakfast wraps are good. Otherwise, eggs and whole-grain bread, oatmeal and protein powder, a weight-watcher's bagel with some pb..there's tons of options.

what's with the oatmeal fascination around here? it's like some people seem to believe that all carbs are bad for you, except oats, which has magical bodybuilding properties.

I have wondered this as well. I have a hard enough time keeping my carbs down throughout the day, I don't need a breakfast packed with them.

I always thought it was good to have a serving of carbs in the morning? And oats are a good source of low gi carbs. He did not specify low or no carb, he just wanted a quick and healthy breakfast. Oatmeal takes like 2min to cook, it was just an idea :dunno:

If you're eating mixed meals of proteins and carbs, your body doesn't know oatmeal from white bread.

your body wants a fast digesting protein upon waking up in the morning as your body is in a fasted state. The sooner you get that protein digested the better. Milk is casein and will take longer to effect your body.

He had it mixed with protein powder though, which is generally whey... cant get proteint hat is digested much faster than that i thought?

That's pretty much what I do with breakfast, and a Bagel + cream cheese to get some carbs right when I wake up.
