I'm headed to the gun show saturday with an ex-coworker. Looking for a vepr, if someone has one.

I'm thinking of taking my Hk sl8-1 with me.

Trying to decide if I should sell it, since I rarely shoot it, or keep it. I love the way it shoots, but hate the neutered 10 rd mag. Don't feel like doing a conversion on it, to make it a g36 clone.

Since I'm not shooting it enough, do I try to sell it? or keep it, and hope I wind up somehow shooting it more. I'm inclined to say sell it.

Thoughts? Help me out, gun crew.

I'm thinking selling it is the way to go. As a buddy at work said

" it is Clinton and Sarah Brady's gun as much as it is yours!!!!!"

i love the SL8s and would love to have one. they're a little much for me though. you could probably get a little over 1k for it, and you could buy a real nice AR for that if you're looking for something with more upgrade abilities and high cap mags.

if I can get 1k for it, I'll be happy with that. But we'll see what anyone there actually offers.

honestly, the AR is a better gun. the SL8s have some quality issues, and it's hard to get parts for it. plus post ban mags.

Maybe, but AR's are a dime a dozen. I've only seen 2 or 3 SL8s at my local range. I see 20+ AR's everytime though.

I'd actually get an AR too :big grin:

Um.. look on glocktalk for a thread on gunshow dealers.. They wont offer you squat!

Sell privately, and buy online.. The day of the gun show deals are almost over..

I can sell privately at the show just as easily as I can sell it to a dealer. your best deals at a gun show don't come from the dealers, they come from the parking lot.

nova, HK, beretta and that .22 pistol...

...they all look like some futuristic movie weapons.

kind of cool, not my taste, but cool.

do they still manufacture the SL8?

i've never seen one at a gun show or in a store, much less in person.

that's not the point. the point is they have quality issues and it's hard to get parts.

i don't remember the specifics, but something like the stock cracking at a weak point, and being almost impossible to replace, and some problems with the trigger components and magazine well.

I'm going tomorrow afternoon, ditching work early. We'll see what happens. I'm gonna try to sell it.
