If the clear coat is chipping of the roof and trunk of my 94 integra is there anything I can do? Or, is it the only option to repaint it? It just seems odd that my neigbours car ( 94 acura integra) has not oxidized and it sits outside just as long and they never wash it. Please help.

Some clear coats break down faster than others. Waxing helps-they may have bought it from someone who took very good care of it. Regardless, a 1994 should not already have a deteriorating clear coat, so there may have been a defect in yours-too late to get the dealer to do anything at this point though.

Your only real recourse is a repaint. No amount of polish or wax will save a failing clearcoat.

Thats what I feared. It must have been a paint defect.
