I am looking for a hdd to put into my modded xbox. I want a lot of space, ie 160 or 200. Anyone have any input on good drives? I have been looking at the maxtor ultra series. they are cheap, but maxtor...:ugh: i'm assuming that there is no difference between pc use and xbox use in terms of reliability and what not. any info would be great.

maxtor is a fine drive. I'd go with their DiamondMax line, however.

If you don't like maxtor, then just get a Western Digital IDE drive... Or a Seagate... They're good, too.

I've heard lots of complaints against maxtor. It seems that maxtor's quality control is lacking.

I bought a 120GB maxtor drive for my xbox a few years ago and it crashed a few months after I purchased it. I rma'd it and the new drive has yet to crash on me.

I bought a Maxtor DiamondMax 9 last april, it died already. Personally I'd go with Seagate, most of their drives have a 4 year warranty.
