I can see the drive on post when the bios for the controller comes up, but once in windows I can not find it anywhere. I have tried several reboots, changed all the jumper settings on the drive and still disk manager can not see the drive. :hsd: Any ideas???

    RAID controller?

    No RAID array configured?

Driver not properly installed for controller?

    PEBKAC?

Does Device Manager list the card in the device list? If the card isn't showing up, then the disk connected to it won't show up.

I pulled one of my DVD drives and plugged in the HDD to that IDE channel and it found it no problem. So at least I know the drive is good.

BIOS for what controller? Are you saying the drives aren't showing up anywhere? What kind of problem are you having and what's on your screen that makes you think you have problems?

The IDE controller card has its own BIOS that shows after the system BIOS on post. The drive shows on post as being attached to the IDE controller card. Windows sees the controller card and it's enabled. But the drive is no where to be found in windows, disk manager shows the controller card but not the drive.
