I have a harddrive where it was unable to bootup, i hooked it up to my other computer to run at as a slave drive. i was able to access all the internal files on the drive but anything that was left on the desktop and "My Documents" folder i cant access. Is there any way to fix this?

might help by actually describing the problem. what os is on it? what os are you using in the slave system? What do you mean "won't bootup?"

check your jumpers and cable. Run Seagate SeaTools.

If it won't boot it might be the MBR.

Install broken HDD as Master. Boot with a Win98 boot disk into DOS and then run FDISK /MBR

I've seen this problem once or twice and this has fixed it. Oh and be sure that the BIOS is enabled to boot from HDD. I had a stupid user that disabled the boot from HDD and had me confused for a bit on that one.
