(same thread that was posted in the main forum, but it got a lot of attention there ... and i don't want it deleted. so, i post here, 'cause you all love me.)

it's 10 seconds long, and completely pointless.

'edited' in Pinnacle Studio, taken with a Canon HG10.

    stream it or whatever, i don't care. it's 8mb.

    the quality is nice.

EDIT: here it is on Stage6. not as impressive, i don't think, but still not bad

EDIT 2: here's another video from inside looking at a model home. no sound.

needs more wide angle. i think i'll buy a little screw on lens thingie for it.

i'm not one for digital zoom, but it has options for OFF, 40x and 200x. 200x looks like shit, obviously, but 40x doesn't look too bad at all.

    it was a whopping $635!!

(but apparently the price went up a little)

and if anyone buys one, DO NOT buy any extra batteries. my dumbass accidentally selected "3" instead of "1" when buying a 2-pack of batteries.

Soooo... i have f'n 6 extra batteries sitting here for the camera.

Thats pretty sick. a lot of camcorders eem to not be wide enough. really annoying if you ask me. i have a panasonic 30g camcorder i had to get a wide angle screw on lens. really detracts from the quality though but what are you going to do :dunno:

It was a toss up between my HDR-SR1 and this cam... still glad I chose the SR1 but the HD10 is pretty bad ass too.

Editing those AVCHD files are a pain in the ass though... Does Pinnacle have any trouble or do you need plug-ins?

fortunately my wide and tele adapters for my p&s (which is now broken) fits on my new cam. It takes it to 24mm which is pretty wide on a camcorder.

it's a fun camera. steady shot isn't all that great, and the microphone picks up -everything-. other than that, we love it.

does it have a mic jack? I have a wireless handheld mic for interviews, and a clip on mic for the main person.

so i've been looking for a small, mid-priced video camera for a roadtrip we have coming up and this one looks pretty good. Do you have any other sample videos from the camera anywhere that I can check out? and beach camera's got it for $650, is that a decent price?
