For some reason I can't read HD-DVD's on my G5. I haven't tried it in my MBP yet but the disc just spins then eventually ejects after some time. It reads other DVD's just fine as well as CD's.

I don't see any updates nor do I see anything that says not HD-DVD compatible. I have a circa 2005 Pioneer superdrive if it was questionable.

if this is something that looks to be supported in Leopard, it will give me a better reason to purchase it sooner than later.

I just want to read them so I can rip them into iPhone video quality.

your hardware doesn't support it, so it's irrelevant if your OS/software does

also encoding HD content down to your iPhone is completely pointless in the first place considering it doesn't even have as many pixels as an SDTV

    :ugh:

sorry...I usually take his standard DVD's and convert them. I wanted to convert some of the recent purchases he has made but they're HD-DVD and I can't read them, hence my thread.
