    I never even heard of the guy DLH is fighting... I mean boxing. However, I've seen quite a few big names boxing and not once have I seen a knock out. A knock down every once in a while, but these guys just can't for the life of them finish a fight. I'm surprised boxing has lasted as long as it has, but I'm glad it's finally being replaced by MMA.

    That narrator should've quoted Kipling:

    Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the two shall meet,
    Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God’s great Judgment Seat;
    But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
    When two strong men stand face to face, tho’ they come from the ends of the earth.

    Boxing is a part of MMA. You should learn to appreciate it.

    with nu-metal and a retarded gladiator theme.

    HBO adds a touch of class and dignity and tradition.

    I do, people get knocked out all the time in MMA. I like K1 but just think boxing is just too focused. How would you like watching a sport where all the guys could do was kick wearing shin pads? It would be absurd as the sport known as boxing.

    My problem with MMA is that it's still a very young sport, and you have yet to find a PURPOSE BUILT fighter from the ground up. Instead what you got are primarily wrestlers or BJJ'ers who have been retrofitted to fight in a cage. What you get are guys, especially after round one, who are bad to mediocre at EVERYTHING.

    The kickboxing is atrocious. What's called a "world class striker" in the form of Chuck Liddell is more like a backyard brawler who's fighting for beer at a BBQ, when compared to someone like Mike Tyson. There's no head movement, no combinations, or really any other defensive capability. Although I'll grant some of that is due to the cage where you can't cut people off, so it encourages back pedaling and running (Starnes).

    I'm sure HBO has a much bigger budget for these things.

    they do. But remember when they were gonna do a deal with the UFC? that would've been perfect.

    Well it was a terrible deal apparently. Personally I'm very satisfied with the production quality of the actual event which would have changed if they signed with HBO.

    pisses me off that all these new age ¨MMAers" don´t have any respect for what their sport was built from.

    .

    However its not the fighters fault, MMA is still a young sport, and we should enjoy the journey it takes and the journey of the new fighters evolve.

    BJ Penn has also addressed this in his book of knowledge, and said basically you gotta be decent at everything but you have to have a specialty eg: BJJ or Striking for example, something that you are fucking phenomenal at no matter the round.

    Of course this is easier said than done, and after fighting for even a bit you get pretty gassed, you forget technique, you get lazy and therefore the sloppy technique is a result
