My power supply only seems to have 4 pin connectors, but for my new graphics card I need 6, are all pins identical? Can I just cannibalize until I have enough? Or do I need a different connecter...or worse...new power supply?

unless you have a really good (read: beast) older psu, it's better to just get a new one.

Then went to newegg.com. Found this:

edit: found it cheaper. (if you want to buy from this company I'd reaserch them a bit first.)

Hope that's what your looking for.

Will Not cut it. Guaranteed. Look for a new PSU.

edit: or... maybe I'm wrong. :mamaru: If you have a bunch of add-ons to your computer then you will prob. have power problems though. If you have vid/motherboard/dvd-rom/ it might cut it.

What kind of card are you using?

Already looked at best buy and circuit city. They don't have it. Try a local mom and pop store. Or maybe radio shack. For such a small store that place seems to have everything.

Oh please PLEASE do just "cannibalize" 2 other random "connectors"... because it would be HILARIOUS.

no... thats mean. The 4-pin connectors are GND, +5v, +12v, and GND... If you mix and match pins you are pretty much guaranteed to destroy something...
