do you have college credits ?
#1 rated job is security force. You get to travel the world and guard foreign embassy's and meet high profile clients.

Bad job would be intelligence. You'd be stuck behind a computer doing tasks that the civilian world mastered 10 years ago.

Well foremost I want something that will translate well into a civillian market. That being said i was looking into some form of intelligence firstly, then 3p secondly, the security jobs sound interesting, but i know nothing about them. No college credits just yet, i cant afford school at all. i'm poor.

It was a joke, I have been AF for 10 years. Well first you need to figure out what style/type of jobs you want and what you can get.

Then we can help you with what they are like. I am not going to try to sell my job to you unless it is something that interests you.

so you can google 3e5x1 if you want...

    oh didnt see your post....

Intel is boring, you deploy a lot. Could help in the outside but some of those jobs are really lame. You do one thing and one thing only for 12 hours a day locked in a room with no windows. Fuck that noise

Security...ie SF...no you will guard a gate or plane all day. plus deploy for 6 months come home for 6 and go again for another 6 n so forth.

Though I guess that just depends.....

    not sure what 3p is

I dont know what 3p is either, or how it got there for that matter, it could easily have been me fat-handing the keyboard.
the current jobs i'm looking at are... in3x1-9, 43d, 3e5x1, 4d0x1. basically all things that can translate into a civillian field well and still be psuedo fun.
    evan2 tell me about 3e5x1.

Well im not going to go in crazy detail about my job so the basics..

You will learn more than enough to set you up in the outside word if you are a go getter.

we are undermanned in the higher ranks though we are highly deployable so you shouldnt have a hard time getting in.

Hope you have had a trig class or higher math

We deploy on a 1:2 dwell...6 months gone, 12 months home though you can be skipped over and as a new troop you just might.

I love/hate my job, its boring at times but sometimes it rocks

Ive been doing it for 10 years now, so if you have detailed questions just shoot me a pm.

    43d sounds Army....

    not sure what 3x1-9 is..

here is a better way to understand our AFSC's...

Any 3e job will relate to the outside world for the most part, some are a bit vauge but most are valid trades....
Fire fighters, electricians, hvac, plumbers, carpenters etc...I work with them on a daily

sorry the 3x1 is supposed to read: 1N3x1, 1N3x2, and so on and so forth until 1N3x9, the translation jobs. I'm fairly passable when it comes to languages, and terrible at math.

basic math skills with get you by, Trig is required but we really do not do it often. It is good to know and will be touched on in tech school though.

Languages are a mother fucker...long ass tech schools and lots of deployments

    Crew Chief. Do it.

But you can still become an email reading, golf playing, office job having, lazy bastard as one of those, too.

If you REALLY have attention to detail, it will be appreciated.

The best kept secret of the military is that the Marines is the cushiest branch.

I'm in the AF and I get yelled at daily by my supervisors and subordinates; sometimes the chow hall lady too. The Marines have people contracted to take out their trash, wash and maintain their government vehicles, paint their buildings, and mow their grass. I have never heard a Marine being yelled at.

Look into 1N4--my 2nd cousin used to be the commander of the intel tech school down in Goodfellow AFB. Its one of the better intel jobs from what I understand, and sets you up for a job with the NSA in the civilian sector. I have been SF for 10 years now. Hopefully making E-7 in the next year. Its a crap job, but I have been to some cool ass places and now just manage, so its not so bad.
