okay, so today I went with my sister to get her second tattoo. It was at the shop I went to about a year and half ago to get my koi done.

I was browsing through the portfolio of the guy who did mine, and I saw my pic in there. I thought it was cool and all, but then my sister said, "great, now someone else may be able to copy the same tattoo." and she did one of these :hsugh:

I don't know what to think, on one hand, I'm flattered, but on the other hand, someone can definitely get the same tattoo :dunno:
I feel like as long as I don't know that anyone else has it it doesn't bother me, but this is a shop that a lot of people frequent and if I see someone with the same tattoo, I don't know how I'd feel.

does anyone else ever feel this way or am i just being paranoid.
i mean i really don't care, but it'd just be odd if i was walking down the street and saw someone with my tattoo :dunno:

most shops wont copy a tattoo they've already done exactly if it was custom work.

hmmm...I never knew that. I would have asked, but the artist wasn't there, and the other employees seemed busy

most good artists won't reproduce someones custom tattoo on someone else.

Why worry about someone else having a similiar tattoo? I'd be flattered myself if someone else dug my ink and wanted to reproduce it.

I dunno, at this point i don't care much b/c I don't know anyone else who has it.

But I remember LebaronLX posting his tattoo on OT and some other OT'er went out and got the same tattoo :ugh: that'd probably make me a lil upset :hs:

but thanks for the replies everyone :wavey:

The guy who did the lady on my back uses it in his portfollio, however, he asked me first before doing it. I think that's only proper. I was flattered and told him that it'd be okay with me.

But then, mine is but isn't custom. I found the pic in a children's book and then asked him to reproduce it onto my back. It's possible, although the chances are extremely slim, that someone else would see the same thing I did in that particular book and want it for a tattoo. (very wordy book about the knights of the round table, the woman was a small picture used at the end of a couple of the chapters)
