I installed 7.11 and 7.12 drivers (both the drivers only and catalyst), and Omega's 7.10 drivers for my Sapphire ATI radeon x1800XT, but they all end up doing the same thing: after i restart after the installation, there's a black screen after the XP loading screen disappears.

There's no problems with my video card prior to the installation (I had to reformat because I was having problems with my NIC), and there's no problems while installing the drivers.

    Can anyone help?

uninstall all drivers, reboot, do not let the computer install any drivers, use the cd that came with the video card. i had the same thing happen to me. i need to install the updated drivers now, but it works. sometimes after i reboot or turn on my computer it takes a few seconds after the splash screen to get a loading screen but it will come up. hope this helps.

Try an older driver. Do you have the original driver disc? If so, give that a shot.

I think jetlag is on to something here.

    This isn't a Dell you're working on....is it?
