so i tried to make an alias to lynx by typing the following:
    alias lynx '~/Applications/lynx.command'
    and it tells me that
    alias: lynx: not found
    alias: '~/Applications/lynx.command': not found
so i decided to make some permanant aliases instead, but i have no Library/init folder!!
    argh! whats happening?
    running latest OS X

Having you tried making the alias without the dynamic link to your home directory? Use the full path to the command instead??

i got it, i assumed that i was running tcsh, but i am in fact running bash.
    bash alias syntax is:
    alias lynx="/Applications/lynx.command"

    aha!
now...where do i make permanant aliases at?
