for example, i am trying to upgrade by iTunes, and it doesnt know how to open it. There is no little image like there normally is, just a blank file thing, and it asks me how i want to open it (i have no idea).
I probably deleted something important when cleaning out my harddrive.
    any ideas?

archive / install preserving user settings is not that big of a deal - it'll leave your data and apps alone, and just rebuild the system folders..you'll have to re-run software updates but it wont impact you too much.

idk what im doing, but it worked last time.
except last time it was some file within the OS that took up like 900000% of my computer shit
