I can usually get to OT, but any time a Platoon is doing their pre-mission checks on ECM I go down hard.

Internet speeds here are like dial-up. Only worse.

I'm on a satellite link, but the provider is in Greece and it's only marginally better than Magic Island. But there is no "general order #1" disclaimer on the service, either. :hsugh:

I don't have trouble accessing it, of course this is the first day that I have been on ot.com though. Most media sites are blocked such as youtube and photobucket thought. You can always ask your S6 to unblock it for you if you are friends.

I better be getting some ass from whoever I unblock something for that we block (not S6 marines, but navy equiv), cause the second anyone above E6 finds out i'd be seeing the captain :wtc: Big navy blocks most of our shit (NMCI for you guys? or one-net, dunno what you use) so can't really ask them to unblock shit.

NMCI since I am on a marine base and since I am in the S1 I can get away with some of that stuff, sort of a trade off. They unblocked nasioc for me and I pushed through some paperwork.

I would not access OT or any other SNWS site from a .mil network.

Meh there's a double standard on internet usage so if I'm ever told I'm getting fucked over a snws site or OT i'll just point to the fact then every person in the military needs to go to see the man... cnn.com? illegal. navyfcu.org? illegal. Networks are for official government duties only. Reading up on the news unless it comes from a .mil or .gov website which are authorized regardless of content is technically a no no, even paying your bills :)

You can justify it as much as you want, but we all know that there's illegal and then there's illegal. There's a grey area, and then there's way way over the fucking cliff.

But back to the point: the only sites I would go to on a .mil network are authorized sites. That's why I pay for my own internet access. My personal shit is on my personal time and on my personal network. Nobody in my chain of command is going to bust my balls over anything I do online.
