    The Issues:

sometimes when I turn my computer on it powers up, and that's it.

no drive acess lights come on (though I can hear them spinning up) the monitor doesn't turn on, nothing. It'll take me about 8 to 10 times turning it on before it actually goes through a normal BIOS, and sometimes, it'll boot just fine, but still won't turn my monitor on.

    the hardstuff:

    athlonXP 1400
    Biostar motherboard
768 megs 2400 DDR (Generic TWCO brand)
Maxor 30 gig 5800 RPM HD
    maxtor 60gig 7200 RPM HD
    Lite-on 32x CD-RW
    GeForce 2 64
    Soundblaster live! 5.1 platinum.

    running XP

there has been NO overclocking what soever, nor have I changed ANYTHING since these problems started croping up.

my OTHER (work) PC is also having some major issues as well:

XP locks up whenever internet explorer is run, also I have tried 3 different brands of ethernet cards (soho, linksys, and some generic brand) and it fails to properly install the drivers everytime. the plug and play digital camera, which works perfectly fine on this PC, is not detected at all, and I can't even manually detect it with the provided software.

I'm thinking that I need to reformat and reinstall xp on my work PC.

    First computer:

That is exactly what happened to my old ass Pentium2 when one of the voltage regulators on the motherboard gave up the ghost (or was about to).... whether or not that's what's happening in your machine, I can't say for sure.

    Second computer:

    Reformat that shiet ;)
