I researched this a few years ago as i had an extra lcd screen laying around. Laptop screens are difficult and expensive to hook up because there is no set standard. It would be cheaper for you to buy a external lcd screen.

Yup, that's what I've been hearing too. I gather that the interface on the display requires a special controller card, which is *not* the same between laptop screens. Hence, you have to order that, and that usually ends up costing more than just buying a new LCD, and thus, though it sounds like a good idea, it doesn't work out. Sorry!

Alternatively, do you still have the laptop itself? If so, you can install whatever version of Windows, put it on your local network, run MaxiVista, and use it as a second display. It won't be good for, say, playing animations on it, but you could use it for basic 2D stuff (surfing the web, email, etc.). Just a thought!

Someone who busted the LCD on their Panasonic laptop would probably buy it from you on eBay. Take the money and put it toward a nice desktop display.

You need a LCD driver board. Sometimes you can buy a Comp video to LCD converter for certan LCDs but most likley you can't

    sell it on ebay
