    Hey all,

Well this has been the question that I have been thinking about for a while now. The EVO is awsome and I did a few things to it. Mostly cosmetic Evo VII tail lights, and a few other little things and so far for Mods I did the Vishnu Xede and a Greddy Boost gauge. The Xede is a user tunable computer for Fuel, Spark and boost.:bigthumb:

So Now I wonder if I should spend more $ on this car to make it go faster. It's a completely weekend car only most of the time it sits in my gorage. I have a daliy driver (SUV) that's slow as crap so when I get into the EVO I'm always impressed.

I could always spend the money else ware and it's not buring a hole in my pocket.

    Give me your input.

    Thanks

Its actually totally up to you. But if it were mine, I would mod it at least a little more. You already have the chip, I would go with a exhaust at least.

Yep that's what I'm thinking. I like the APS unit. It does not have that angled muffler like the JDM stuff and I understand it to be not to loud.

I know my friend was looking into the HKS which another EVO has here in town. I think they are also straight, not angeled and not to loud. But I have no idea.

Have you thought of rims? Some Volks would look pretty nice...

intake, turbo back exhaust, upgrade intercooler. dont up the boost much, it at all. that ought to be good for about 30-40hp, which is definately noticeable.

Oh I making already 290whp on a dyno jet. Intake is not needed and IC does nothing with the stock turbo. Plus I really don't want the BOV sound just to much look at me here I come.

if i where you i would check out www.buschurracing.com and do some reading...but honestly i dont see how you can keep yourself from spending lots of money on that thing. I would say open up the exhaust, get a clutch and see how you like it from there but my guess is that you will end up modding the shit out of it lol. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have a friend with Buschur's exhaust on his ride and it rattles so if they don't have enough attention to detail to a simple exhaust then I'm not willing to consider them for a turbo kit.

Why is that? I think he is a very bright guy and really knows how to tune. His prices are on the high side but the products are very nice quility.

    I wouldn't mod EVO8. It's nice car from stock...
What I've heard about that car is, if you mod, you will loose some performance of total balance.

The Evolution is the 2nd most favorite AWD car in Japan, after the almighty GT-R. So lets not underestimate it. Skyline GT-Rs in Japan are pushing 1200-1500whp with their 2.7 liter engine, so everything is possible.

Here is our little project! Stay tuned how the buildup goes...

    HKS turbo setup kit
HKS T51R SPL turbo1000 PS Output
    COMPRESSOR:
    -Wheel- 56 Trim - 76.5 Inducer/ 102.2 Major
    -Housing- 100 Inlet / 80 Outlet
    TURBINE:
    -Wheel- 76 Trim - 82.0 Major / 71.4 Exducer
    -Housing- V-Band inlet / V-Band 115.5 mm outlet - 1.00 A/R
    HKS gauges
    HKS 100mm intake
HKS Fuel rail with 1200 cc injectors
    HKS fuel pump
    HKS intercooler
ATS Triple disk Carbon clutch ( good for 1000HP)
    Autronic standalone management system
    Custom 4" downpipe and a 4" exhaust
    Tomei 22 engine kit
    Tomei Procam camshafts
    Tomei headgasket
    Tomei springs
    NOS spoolup kit
    Custom 80mm intercooler pipes
    JUN intake manifold
and a lot more little stuff...

seems like you got some cash, why not spend like 5k to it and that should give you about 400hp at crank

I am contemplating about getting one...but rumor has it that the Evo 8 MR is coming to American soon and am probably going to hold out for that one (20 more ft. lbs of torque, better handling/suspension, and some little cosmetic details), and it's the same price..anyone have any details on when the MR is coming here?

MR is nice but if your holding out to get somthing that does not have USDM specs on it don't hold your breath. I think it will be detuned for CA 91 octain requirments. Plus the 6spd is a step back and AYC has many problems with it. I would suggest just getting the RS with AC/P Windows in Locks. That Limited Slip does all the diffrence.
