it replaces your rear sight with this little AK iron-dot sight
seems like it would provide a great line of sight.

i know i know, it's LaRue and i don't sackride their products like barfcom
but i still think it looks pretty sweet :hsd:

i heard they might loose center, but only from 1 person. other reviews have been pretty great.
what is WMD crew's opinion on these?

On paper it looks like one of the best optic solutions for the AK, I haven't used one yet though. :dunno:

 a simple sight like this that doesn't require a rail seems alot cleaner
then some of the ridiculous quad rail setups that people put on theirs :dunno:

$285 doesn't seem too bad especially for a LaRue product :dunno:

Pretty much your only other option is an ultimak gas tube ($100) and add a aimpoint/docter to that ($400).

Looks like a good idea. I'll wait to see if the price comes down from LaRue sack-rider land into the real world.

You'll be waiting awhile, absent any factory sales, LR prices are sort of like Apple's.

The Burris FF is at least $170 by itself, so with a mounting solution on such an unmodular weapon, the price is actually pretty good.

That looks pretty nice. I'll be interested to hear some reviews. If it works well I'll pick one up for my AK.

I think it looks really cool but I don't know if I'd want to spend more on that than I did for the entire WASR10 it'd be going on.

I had one on order, but canceled it because I ended up selling my AK.

I thought it looked like a great idea myself, but personally haven't seen/heard of someone using one. Hearing mostly good reviews on the Fastfire as a pistol optic, so I imagine it would do OK on a rifle. I hope to have one by the end of the week for a pistol project.

Buy one and let us know what's up.

Yep, has held up real well, batteries last a long time too. Easy to take on and off assuming your rifle already has a siderail.

would you reccomend one of those kobras for a saiga12?
    been eying them for awhile

i've been looking for something for mine, but the LaRue one wouldnt work because they don't have that kind of rear sight.
and it doesn't seem like it would hold up to a saiga's recoil.

I've seen a couple people with them on saiga12's, so should hold up, mines gotten banged around quite a bit and has held together and kept zero.

i just ordered all the parts for my conversion
after that's all done i'll be grabbing one of those sights for sure.

i got a tapco OD green buttstock and a matching OD green SAW grip.
still waiting for the modified tromix FCG to be back in stock
also thinking about either leaving the stock forend or getting a galil style in OD green :dunno:
