    1. I used to live in a high rise apartment building. One cold morning, I looked outside and the exhaust from all the buildings rose straight up. There was zero wind so all the steam trails were neat parallel lines. I just went to work and didn't take a photo. Now whenever it's cold like today (-9 :squint:) I remember the day when I should have taken the photo.

    2. When I was in college I had a friend who had his pilot's license. He was flying into town and I met him at the airport. I was halfway there when I realized I left my camera at home. I didn't want to be late so I kept going to meet him. My last sight of him was as he flew off into the sunset. He died of an asthma attack a couple months later.

    3. I saw Ryne Sandberg at Gibson's and didn't have my camera.

Now I keep a camera in the car! Do you think about the shot that you should've taken?

all the time. I'm at the point in my photography obsession that I get really depressed and pissed off if I miss a shot because I didn't have my camera.

I don't know that I can think of any specifics, but it hasn't happened in a while because I take my camera EVERYWHERE now

Sometimes memories are more powerful and rewarding than a photo could ever be.

If i don't have my camera with me, I'm happy just to have experienced something in life. Also when I do have my camera and things don't look / photograph the way I want them, i'm content with the knowledge that what I captured is what i saw and experienced myself.

    It happens all the time...

There have been many occasions where I wish I had my camera instead of a shitty cellphone to take pics of something.

When I lived in Montana it was a -15, gusty day with ice crystals being blown back up into the clear, sunny sky. The ice crystals reflected the sun perfectly and made it look like two suns were out.

I've missed a lot of good shots, but I still have my memories. It beats not being there at all. If you really feel haunted by them, y not take up painting?

I get pretty pissed every time I see a nice Falcon or other bird of prey sitting, landing, taking off and I"m stuck in my car in heavy morning rush hour with no real way to get a safe shot.

I always walk with a small camera on me now, cause you never know when you will need it.

dawt. the way you remember something could be far better than how it appears in a photo.
