I setup our WSUS server to pull the update and all of the work computers updated fine. I haven't bothered to manually download IE7 for the home computers because it was supposed to be pushed. Where is it? Anyone have it pushed or has everyone who is using it downloaded it manually?

All of the smart IT managers are blocking the automatic download of IE7 on their domains until the effects of upgrading on web apps (which are used by...oh...EVERYONE nowadays) is fully understood.

I had it sent to me, but I declined it.

Too many people are reporting headaches going on with it.

Yea, I've been dealing with several companies that just couldn't be bothered with testing it BEFORE it was released. Now they are having issues and scrambling to fix them. fucktards.

Interesting - no issues at work. Just interesting that none of the home computers have had it push. I even tried to force the update (wuauclt /detectnow) but nothing.

Goddamn I hate this. Our laptop users, in the infinite wisdom of the UK Managerial Team, were given Admin rights to their machines as they may need to "Assist in their own technical repairs". Right.

So yeah, when these automatic updates came down, people were installing them all willy-nilly. I've spent most of the latter-half of this week removing it from peoples machines as it's been shitting up 75% of our web-based apps.

Also, Sharepoint users, IE7 does some CRAZY fucked-up shit when you open up documents sometimes, and if you have any kind of SQL database link up to it, it can shit that up royally too.

WSUS can't come soon enough for me, only two weeks until deployment!

I checked on one of my test VM's (XP SP2) and it was in the critical updates list on the Windows Update site. So if I had done the "Express Install" it would have come down.
