Apparently i'm going to be humping the moutains this summer. :wtf: I'm probably going to be the only P.I. Marine there. From what I understand, there are no female platoons. :wtc: .

    Any info, comments, or suggestions?

Are you going to MCT or are you doing an AT in Pendleton? There's a difference.

I did the accelerated verison of MCT where we trained for 17 days straight. Were out in the field for mayb 7 of the 17 days, rest of the time was just going through shitty classes.

well, I wasn't in MCT, I was ITB, but we still did all the humps that you are going to do.

You are going to do the 5k, 10k, and 15k hump. Since you haven't been to boot camp in a while, and most of the other SOI guys just finished boot camp, it will be kind of tough for you, since you're out of hiking shape.

The humps aren't that bad, and you won't have any weapon systems or a mortar fiber in your pack, like ITB does.

All in all, the 10k and the 15k are hiking up a motherfucker of a hill, and it lasts a really long time, but it is only about the first 1/4 of the hike, the rest of it is gravy. The 5k is a joke.

    In terms of hardness:

    2nd > 1st > 3rd

On the 10k we went up and down 90 degree hills.

Are you SERIOUS!? Man how did you guys make it up those 90degree hills. Did you have to use ropes?

Insdav3: No worries. Remember you went trough the toughest basic training available! Nothing can phase you because you are a Marine. Grab your balls, cinch up your ruck and get walking :)

We ripped out our MCMAP belts and made field expedient climbing gear.

the whole of MCT was a joke. A waste of 4 weeks of perfectly good OJT.

MCT was pretty much a joke. Shooting the 240G was pretty fun, but over all it was a waste of time.

    You'll make it.

No new Marines know where Mount Motherfucker is. There is always confusion.

Some Marines say it is The Reaper, just renamed. Others say it is at SOI, and is the main path climbing up Recon Ridge. The huge, easy to spot path, off to the right of the mountain face.

Surely one of the Marines here can clear that up!

Mt. Motherfucker is (was - I heard they demolished the huts) right across the highway from the MCT huts. The Reaper is somewhere else closer to the 2nd phase boot camp location. I always forget the Area numbers and names or I'd state them exactly.

Not sure what/where Recon Ridge is. :dunno:
