a friend gave me a t-shirt a while back (actually, I stole it from him) and I recently rediscovered it in a box of old clothes :hs:

I'd like to wear it, but it's a couple sizes too large. any chance I could take it to a tailor and have them alter it down a size-and-a-half?

Anyone ever done this or something similar? :hs:

no but it can be done, ppl on sufu do it, but im not sure how it will look if you're trying to make the shirt smaller including the sleeves, length and width..

i have my sister do it for me :o

she cuts off the sleeves, takes in the sides, and shortens the sleeves to my liking

yeah, just need a sewing machine

you'll have seams in the sides of your shirt, but they're not really noticable

the shirt is from A&F, so it probably has seams on it anyway :o

it has a certain sentimental value. Plus, it's almost 10 years old, and only been worn a handful of times, so finding another in nearly the same condition would be impossible :o

yeah, I generally just cut up each side seam through the sleeves so it's only connected at the neck. Then I hem the sleeves and take it in. Like a 20 minute job tops.

why not cut off the design and stitch it to another shirt, i've always dug that style.
