    yes. Are you getting a c&r (type 03)? Or trying to get a regular dealer FFL (type 01)?

    Either way, I'm going to say yes, it was wasted money.

    edit: Pretty sure I got the types right, but if not, someone will correct me later

    I'm with mvizos, if you're getting a c&r you certainly don't need any help.

    If you're wanting an 01 plenty of people on forums would help you with any questions for free. For example are you in an area thats zoned to allow business from your home or do you have an actual retail location picked out? You can't just get an 01 because you want guns shipped to your house.
