    easy as shit to get
i haven't tried, but when i was on the boat a couple guys had to be gun qual'd to do a det in Iraq, and they met the requirements for the ribbon w/ serious ease. If u know u can shoot, u can get it, that simple.

It's easy as fuck. I have my Rifle Ribbon for shooting the M16. A bunch of my shipmates are shooting with Marines for training right now. We usually shoot underway.

the Marksmanship ribbon is fairly easy if you qual once a year at all. I never did the quals because as a Nuke there's no need for it. My Father was a Seabee and he had it, they shoot like every 2 or 3 years for "Refresher Quals".

iirc, the course of fire was 10rds in 1 min, 10rds in 20sec, and then 10rds in 10sec, all drawing from the hip, and at the 25 yard mark.

dude, it's the navy after all. plus the m9 is only accurate to 50. i've never shot at a range that went further than 25, but i imagine it'd be a bitch to accurately shoot with a pistol that far, even though i'm a fairly good shot.

for the m16, i don't remember how far we were from the targets (took place on an aircraft carrier elevator), and this was just for qualification to carry the weapon, not the ribbon. but anyways we were shooting at the really small sillouhettes(sp?) had to shoot 30rds.

quals and ribbons are simulated 200
usually a target the size of a fist at 25 yards

Should be called an Alt. C qualifcation target. You fire 2 rounds into each small target if I remember correctly.
