Harley benchpress and a question

    Don't care if it's been reposted.

    And my question:

    I remember I was reading through a fitness magazine and it had Jay Cutler's diet in there. Said he stuck to simple carbs/sugars post-workout. Anyone do this? I used to drink a glass of Gatorade after working out, now I've switched to a couple pieces of chocolate or a regular Pepsi.
    Thoughts?

    I know a bunch of guys that drink a pepsi or mountaindew post workout.

    it's known that simple carbs post-workout is favorable, hence why many people take dextrose and waxy maize

    Your fine, I wouldn't go above 100. Back in the day we had carbo coolers. They were 400 calories and 100 grams of pure sugar. 2 pepsi's would have been much cheaper!!

    Yea man drink a soda afterward. It'll be fine. I sometimes add a spoonful of chocolate syrup to my post workout shake. :rofl:

    is an insulin spike really needed after weightlifting only though?

    Some of us don't want an insulin spike EVER!! Others need all they can get.

    "hardgainers" tend to need more quick carbs after a workout to facilitate the insulin spike to drive nutrients into the damaged cells...gatorade, soda, etc...

    basically post workout is the one chance per day you get to eat something that would otherwise be classified as shitty for you (cookies for example...protein shake and a couple cookies w/ nutella om nom nom)

    What's Scots DL and Squat? Looks like he has some boss legs in most of his vids. But I've only seen vids of him benching.
